Bring out the star at the Voice Lounge
Demi Hewamanna
Girls who just want to have fun and boys who just want to release all
their energy through a microphone and bring out what they feel can very
much do so at the
newest talk of the town venue – The Voice Lounge.
Hidden in the grounds of BRC and located on the third floor of the BRC
new wing, you can drive through from the Park Road side walk into your
very own stage set with electric stars, amazing set of cocktails to keep
your spirits high and a long list of songs from the early 70s to now for
you to sing.
From pop, rock n’ roll, slow duets and even hip hop you really wish
you could spend a whole day with a list of over 3000 songs to sing over
and over again. Don’t worry you are not going to be judged by Christina
Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine or Blake Shelton from the real Voice
reality show. You can just let loose, take those heels off, give your
favourite song to the DJ, pick up the microphone and just sing your
worries away.
The three musketeers behind this – Dinuk Hettiarachchi together with
Sajith and Jeevan Fernando, hosted us to an evening of bites, drinks and
singing. It was a quiet evening (being Tuesday) but usually it gets
packed on Thursdays and the weekends. They have got the Happy Hour going
from 7pm to 9pm on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday with alternate
Wednesdays for Bankers or Ladies night.
The three guys have given the place a really cozy atmosphere with
comfy seating and the large screens located on all four corners of the
room giving one a clear view of the lyrics of their chosen song.

They shared their views on how that there aren’t a large number of
Karaoke lounges for music lovers to go to. And already this place is
buzzing with regulars. “I guess there’s a bit of a pop star in each of
us. Explore it”, adds Saj.
The Voice Lounge leaves no man or woman on an empty stomach as they
have a range of bar snacks and other dishes to fulfill your hunger.
Though it is worthy of note that even those who may not sing, get
truly caught up in Voice’s upbeat flavour, evident especially on weekend
nights when the dance moves clearly match the talent of the singing. |
