Polish mining company in Colombo

One of the leading Polish mining companies, Linter based in Poland is
now in Sri Lanka to explore investment opportunities in the country.
Group CEO, Linter, Leszek, speaking to ‘Daily News Business’ said that
they are in Sri Lanka to look at trading opportunities as well.

“We are here on an invitation extended by Minister/Deputy Chief of
Mission, D. S. De Silva of Embassy of Sri Lanka who has given
opportunities available in Sri Lanka,” he said. Leszek added that they
would also look at importing spices, herbal products, tea and also
leather products to Poland,” he said.
The three member delegation would also attend the leather and
footwear show which would be commencing today at the BMICH. He also said
that Emirates would launch flights to Poland and with Turkish airlines
also operating direct flights to Colombo they would also aggressively
promote tourism between the two countries.
He said that they also own a 400 room Sking resort in Poland which is
even patronized by the president of Poland. “We are looking at opening
this out to Sri Lankan tourists as well,” he added. Last year over 5,500
tourists visited Sri Lanka and this is this figure is expected to almost
double. |
