Trinity eye early win over Panadura Sumangala

Trinity College, Kandy look set to an early win today in their
schools Under 19 cricket tournament match against Sri Sumangala College,
Panadura which began at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday. The match
will be continued today at 10 am.
Put into bat by the visitors Trinity College batsmen ran riot to
amass 309 for 4 declared in 49 overs, scoring at the rate of over six
runs per over.
Vice Captain Rajitha Jayatunga scored an unbeaten 103 with 7 fours
and 2 sixes off 108 balls. He put on 77 runs for the fourth wicket with
Ron Chandragupta 51 (43 balls, 7 fours, 1 six).
Rajitha was also associated in an unbroken stand of 64 for the fifth
wicket with skipper Dinuk Wickramanayake 50 not out (1 six, 3 fours, 60
balls). This is Dinuka's fifth half century and also has knocked a ton
to take his season's total to 480.
Sumangala batsmen found run getting difficult and folded up for 95 in
43.3 overs by close. This leaves them the difficult task of scoring 214
runs to avoid an innings defeat. Left arm spinner Lakshan Jayasinghe
bowled best to capture 4 for 13.
