Kusal, Suchira put on 107 first wicket stand

Zahira College, Colombo with a first innings win under their belt continued their second innings of the inter-school Under 19 Cricket match against Prince of Wales College on day-two at Maradana.

Zahirians were all out for 236 runs in their second essay with Ishad Umar making the top score of 57 and Shehan Achintha too contributed 44 runs. Thilan Nimesh, Hasitha Lanka and Shanuka Dulaj claimed three wickets each.

Cambrians chasing a target of 242 runs for an outright victory and at the close they were 234 for 9 with Kusal Mendis 66 and Suchira Fernando 41 putting on 107 for the first wicket. Suraj Wijetunge and Hasitha Lanka scored 33 and 30 runs respectively. Nikzi Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Zahirians with 3 for 28 runs.

Zahira - 122 and 236 (Arshad Imamdeen 36, Nikzi Ahmed 21, Dileepa Samarasekera 28, Shehan Achintha 44, Irshad Umar 57, Thilan Nimesh 3/84, Hasitha Lanka 3/30, Shanuka Dulaj 3/84).
