President greets Lankan women’s team

President Mahinda Rajapaksa greeted Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, which qualified for the super six round of Women’s World Cup beating formidable India yesterday. So far, the Lankan women’s team impressed beating tough sides including defending champion England a few days back.

In a telephone call to Lankan women’s captain Shashikala Siriwardene, the sports loving President commended the performance of Sri Lankan team yesterday and wished Lankan lasses every success in the remaining matches.
