Udu Gan Bala, at Lionel Wendt
Udu Gan Bala, an exhibition of sculptures and metal embossing works
by Bandula Peiris will be held at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery on
February 9 and 10.
The opening ceremony of the event will be held on February 8 at 5 pm.
The event is organized to mark Peiris' 25 years in the art.
Peiris hails from Koralawella. He was educated at Sri Saddharmodaya
Buddhist school and Sri Rajasinghe Maha Vidyalaya, Egodauyana. He
received his vocational education at Junior Technical College, Ratmalana
and trained as a painter and sculptor at the Government College of Arts
and Crafts at Horton Place.
Angelin Goonetilleke Live in Concert
Angeline's musical extravaganza, 'Angelin Goonetilleke Live in
Concert - Cinema Gethawalokanaya' will be held on February 9 at Nelum
Pokuna at 6.30 pm.
Music is handled by Premnath Kodithuwakku. Fans of Angeline will see
her singing live. They will get the opportunity to hear her singing
live, 30 songs sung by her in the 70s and 80s decades at the show.

'Kalani Palama,' directed by R R Samarakoon and produced by Priyantha
Ranjan will be staged on February 8 at 2.30 pm and 6.30 pm at the
Sudasuna hall, Chilaw.
The cast includes Ramya Wanigasekera, Sanjeewa Upendra, Prasannajith
Abeysooriya, Geetha Kanthi Jayakody, Thilak Kumara Rathnayake, Prasad
Sooriyaarachchi, Niluka Rekhani, Kamal Jayakody, Tharanga Bandara,
Samson Gomas, R M Abeynayake, Samantha Kumara Gamage, Dimuthu Chinthaka
along with Madhani Malwatta and Anusha Dissanayake. Choreography by
Wasantha Wittachchi, Kumara Galahitiyawa and Upul Mahanama, stage
management by Priyantha Ranjan and assisted by Anushka Vithanage and
Chandima Samarasinghe. Prompting done by Nilanka Sandamali. Lighting by
Wasantha Kumara, stage decorations by Lionel Bentharayan and stage
equipments by Rohana Hewavitharana.
'Kalani Palama' is presented by House of Drama while main organizer
and production management is done by Priyantha Ranjan.
Marambaree takes to Kuwait
Singing duo Edward Jayakody and Charitha Priyadharshani along with
their daughter Sharanya Jayakody will stage the latest chapter of their
successful Marambaree series at the Kuwait Hawally Boy's Schout Hall on
February 8 at 6 pm.
The event is organized to mark the 65th Independence Day Celebration
of Sri Lanka in Kuwait and organized by the Kuwait Sri Lanka Cultural
Society lead by its president Ajith Kavikumara. Susil Amarasinghe,
Chathura Prasad and Chandeepa Jayakody will present the show. |
