Conjoined babies die

Conjoined babies in Monaragala, Mallewa in the Medagama Divisional Secretariat area, died on Tuesday at Monaragala Sirigala District Hospital.

They were born at the Colombo maternity Hospital in September, sharing one heart.

A new house was built for their parents under the guidance of Construction, Engineering Services Housing and common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa in response to this rare incident. It was to be handed over to the parents on the day of the demise of the babies.

The minister visited on Tuesday night, paid his last respect and handed over the key of the new house to the parents.
