Aluthgama CC conducts inter-club T20 tournament

Aluthgama Cricket Club, Aluthgama will conduct their Inaugural Open Inter-Club T20 Cricket Tournament from January 25 to February 25 at Gamini National School Grounds, Bentota and Surrey Grounds, Maggona.

The tournament is open to all clubs island-wide but the organizers have restricted the maximum number of partipating clubs to 16 teams, entertained on a first come, first served basis. The teams will be pooled into four groups and the round-robin stage consisting 24 matches which will be played at Gamini National School grounds from January 25 onwards on all week-ends and holidays.

At the completion of the round-robin matches, the first two teams from each group will advance to the super-eight knock out stage.

The semi-finals and the final will be played at the Maggona Surrey Grounds on February 24 and 25.

Apart from the trophies attractive cash prizes, sponsored by Beruwala PS members Dinesh Priyankara and Ravi Nalin Kumara, are on offer for the winners and runner up. Entries close on January 19 at 12.00 noon and the draw will be held at the Red Cross Hall, Bentota on the same day at 2.00 pm.
