The annual Thai Pongal celebrations
organized by President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady
Shiranthi Rajapaksa were held at Temple Trees yesterday. The
President participated at the traditional Pongal decorations
and gomatha puja. Here the First Lady engaged in a

To enhance cultural promotion
programmes and develop relationships between Sri Lanka and
Afghanistan, a MoU was signed between Cultural Affairs
Minister T.B. Ekanayake and Afghanistan Foreign Minister Dr.

A pre-school of international
standard costing Rs 4 million was jointly built by the Sri
Lanka Air Force Welfare Unit and Seva Vanitha Unit at the
Air Force complex premises in Valaiyeravu, Batticaloa on
