'President upholds country's legal system'

The masses of this country will be protected by the force of nature as the power of the universe goes hand in hand with the President.

There were many catastrophic concerns created about our motherland but once again it has proven that the President is protected by the good spirits to save our motherland.

Constitutional characteristics preserved by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is exemplified with the retirement of the chief justice through impeachment powers given to the government by the franchise of a two thirds majority showing the respect placed on the President by the masses of this country.

The President never breached human rights and the rights of the judiciary, and in keeping with the Constitution he respected the rights of the masses of this country. He never abused the power of the government and the authority of the judiciary system.

His roots as a young lawyer, assisted him to become the President of this country.

Thus, he will never let the legal system be a failure in Sri Lanka and he has the utmost respect for the legal system. President Mahinda Rajapaksa defines the democratic socialist. He never violates the Constitution or the legal system and acts according to the Constitution. President Rajapaksa receives the same authority as President J R Jayawardena but President Rajapaksa receives the consent of the government and implements acts through the Parliament.

It is not a dictatorship as the Diaspora allege.

With regard to the retirement of former C. J. Shirani Bandaranayake, the President never used his power and authority without taking into consideration the masses of this country.

He is the definition of a good son of our motherland as displayed during the period of terrorism.

He and others who represented the government and the military services never harassed innocent Tamil people or any other community.

They respected all religions and were protected by the President.

Our country had been discriminated and abused by the international community and viewed with bias by the media and evil spirits of terrorism. Sadly some selfish political parties were remunerated by foreign currency to destroy our motherland.

As Sri Lankans we are exceptionally lucky that we have a President like President Rajapaksa.

He is from the southern coastal belt which created many courageous people.

He is a force of nature come to save mother Lanka from destruction.

During the last three decades of terrorism which created bloodshed and uncertainty among all communities, President Rajapaksa and Defence and Urban Development Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa took an initiative with everyone's blessings to create a peaceful and safe motherland for the people to live without fear and economic hardships.

If terrorism remained, we would not have a place to live in this country.

Thus, all our blessings go to the President and Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa for valiantly handling internal and international pressure from various individuals and organizations as well as short-sighted governments who supported the evil of terrorism which plunders our motherland and other states the world over.

I recall the stories of my great grandfather, Methaiyas Jayasuriya, 40 years ago who predicted that one day the Rajapaksa family will unite and create a Sri Lanka under one flag that respects all communities and religions.

The development drive with new infrastructure changes will create a better community. The beautification of cities carried out by Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will provide mental and social satisfaction for the masses and redevelop the minds of all communities to live safely and comfortably with positive attitudes.

Only a few people in this country practice true Buddhism which comprises Seela, Samadhi, Pannya. The President will create a better country with the assistance of all religious communities.

The present impeachment imposed by the Parliament and votes received create awareness among Sri Lankans and the international community that allegations are not based on rumors.

Action will be taken under the legal system in a democratic manner.
