Tusks sold for Rs 2.4 million

The Kobeygane Police arrested a person for allegedly selling a pair of tusks worth over Rs 2.4 million last Sunday at Kobeygane Sirisethagama cemetery.

The suspect is a 32-year-old resident of Polpitigama, Maeliya. These tusks, weighing nearly 13 kilograms, were neatly packed in several polythene papers.

The suspect was produced before the Hettipola Magistrate and remanded until January tomorrow.
