ETA MELCO Elevator Training Centre another milestone
ETA MELCO ENGINEERING (PTE) LTD. which is a Joint Venture with
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, established in Sri Lanka in 1983, and
the first elevator company in Sri Lanka to be awarded with ISO 9001:2008
certification, is conducting courses for NVQ III level certification in
the field of elevator engineering with a fully-fledged Training Centre,
in collaboration with National Apprentice & Industrial Training
Authority (NAITA).

This Training Centre is equipped with all modern-day facilities, to
impart training to students in the field of installation, maintenance
and safety of Elevators & Escalators.
Due to the excellent training facilities and skills available, ETA
MELCO would have been the right choice of the facilitator for the
students who are interested in this field, and they will be given
theoretical training and field experience both in the installation and
maintenance work.
ETA MELCO already has ground record of supplying over 2700 Elevators
& Escalators in Sri Lanka and over 450 Elevators & Escalators in the
Rep. of Maldives, and they will be recruiting the 2nd intake of trainees
in March 2013 in the field of installation and maintenance of Elevators
and Escalators. The demand for persons to be trained in this field has
gained great importance due to the boom in the construction activities
in Sri Lanka and also due to the large number of orders they have
secured in this field.
The students after successful completion of the training will be
awarded NAC/NVQ level III certificate by NAITA. The Training Centre is
equipped with a competent lecture panel, comprising of qualified
Engineers, Administrator and skilled Supervisors/Technicians who have
been trained by the principals, Mitsubishi. The students will be taken
through a complete training process, commencing from theory classes,
practical demonstrations, job site training and other requisites.
This is the second batch of trainees to be selected, and the first
batch of 25 students has already commenced their training sessions from
September 2012.
The selected candidates will be given various attractive allowances,
medical benefits, and accommodation for outstation students during this
training period of two years.
National Apprentice & Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) will be
conducting in parallel personal development programme and providing
language (English) practice for the students. Moreover, supervision will
be done by them throughout the period of two years and separate record
books will be maintained for each student for evaluating them
periodically on the effectiveness of the course, and they will be
providing guidelines for the lecture panel and conducting
train-the-trainer sessions time to time.
ETA MLECO has its operations in 23 countries, including U.A.E., Oman,
Qatar, Kuwait, C.I.S. Countries, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Maldives, India,
Bangladesh etc., and the trainees are assured of employment in Sri Lanka
or in overseas branches after successful completion of the training.
