Alleged rape of teen: Police arrest three

Three persons wanted in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl, were arrested by Neluwa Police yesterday.

The victim’s mother, who had given birth recently, in her complaint said the three suspects forcibly entered their house at about 10.30 pm last Sunday while they were having dinner, abducted the girl and raped her.

Police investigations reveal that the girl’s father had left them over a month ago. Police said during the past few weeks, the girl had worked in the estate instead of her mother, who was not medically fit to work due the recent child birth.

The victim was sent to the Galle Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for an examination. The suspects were produced before court yesterday evening.
