The Western Provincial Housing Ministry allocated Rs 20 million to distribute building material among low income families for the construction of their houses.

Six hundred and sixty six families of the Western Province will be donated with building material through this allocation.

Western Province Road Development Minister Nimal Lanza said the vision is supply to suitable houses for low income families to complete essential facilities of their houses.

The ministry expects planning activities of Homagama, Gabadawatta Housing Projects under the State sector housing project to commence soon.

The Gabadawatta housing project with 376 houses was implemented in 2011.

The Provincial Housing Fund has donated Rs 1,967,500 to 88 low income families by the end of September 2012.
