Dhammika Perera, Consul of the Republic of Senegal
The President of the Republic of Senegal Macky Sall appointed
Dhammika Perera as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Senegal in Sri
Lanka, recently.

The appointment was approved by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on
December 07, 2012.
Renown for his business acumen, Dhammika Perera has commercial
interests in a wide range of sectors including Banking and Financial
Services, Power and Energy, Leisure, Manufacturing and diversified
holdings. Entities under his purview provide employment to approximately
50,000 individuals, contribute 5% of Sri Lanka's tax revenues and
accounts for 3% of the nations’ export turnover.
His renewable energy portfolio contributes close to 50 MW to the
nations’ power grid. At present he serves as Chairman of Sampath Bank,
Vallibel One, Vallibel Finance, Vallibel Power Erathna, The Fortress
Resorts PLC, Delmege (Private) Ltd and Greener Water Ltd. He is Deputy
Chairman of Hayleys, Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC and LB Finance.
He is also on the Boards of several other public and privately held
companies.
In addition, Dhammika Perera lends his expertise to national policy
development. He is Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and serves on
the Board of the Strategic Enterprise Management Agency and of Sri Lanka
Insurance Corporation.
He also served as Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka
from April 2007 to May 2010.
It is envisaged that as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of
Senegal Perera will assist Sri Lanka and Senegal develop a variety of
links in pursuant of mutually beneficial interests.
