Dedication service

The dedication service of the year for local churches of the Ceylon Bible Society will be held on January 12 at 9.30am at the Christian Reformed Church, Station Road, Dehiwela.

The message will be chaired by Christian Reformed Church president Rev C N Jansz. Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Most Rev Dr F L Emmanuel is expected to share a brief message.

Choir festival finals

The finals of the all-island choir festival organised by the Institute of Western Music and Speech will be held on January 19 at 4.30pm at the Bishop's College auditorium.

The semi-finals on January 12 in Colombo and January 13 in Kandy will feature several schools and groups in the junior senior and open categories.

Cash prizes and certificates of participation and awards will be presented to the contestants and winners.

Housing scheme anniversary

Maddumage Watta Housing Scheme residents have organised a special programme to celebrate its 30th anniversary on January 12. An overnight pirith chanting ceremony will be followed by a sangika dana on Sunday morning.

Get-together
