Karate workshop at Maharagama

A two-day Karate workshop organised by Okinawa Traditional
Goju-Ryu-Karate Do Association in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Youth
Sports Society was held recently at the National Youth Centre,
Maharagama.

The first Karate Instructor Sen-sei-Yoshinori Yonesaco (55) who
introduced karate sport to the National Youth Services Council in 1986
conducted the workshop.
More than 400 sportsmen and sportswomen participated at the workshop.
This was held to mark the 26th anniversary of the Association. The
Chairman, Director General, Attorney-at-Law Lalith Piyum Perera
commissioned the programme.

Wijesinghe, Director Ajith Naragala, Working Director Milinda Rajapaksa
and Assistant Director (Sports) Saman Abeywardana also graced the
inaugural ceremony.
All the trainees who took part at the workshop were presented with a
participation certificate. |
