Call to destroy dengue breeding grounds

Eastern Province Local Government Commissioner M Udayakumar requested Local Authority Heads to make arrangements to destroy Dengue breeding grounds in their departments.

Udayakumar sent a circular to Municipal Councils, Urban Councils and Pradeshiya Sabhas in this regard.

He said all local bodies should take prompt action to eradicate dengue breeding grounds.

"It is regrettable that some Local Authorities have not taken any action to wipe out dengue breeding grounds," Udayakumar said.
