NP teacher transfer discussed

A special meeting regarding the Northern Province teacher transfers was held under the chairmanship of Northern Province Governor G A Chandrasiri in Battaramulla.

Ways and means to implement transfers properly were discussed. The Northern Province Teacher Transfer Board, headed by the Provincial Director of Education was formed. The board is represented by representatives of teacher unions. The Governor instructed the board to submit details of teachers to be transferred in 2013, replaced teachers, replacement of teachers working in Vanni under the two - year agreement and finalised confirmed list of Principals to be transferred in 2013, before January 15.

Another transfer board under the leadership of zonal directors will be formed on January 15. Teachers working continuously for seven years in a same school will be transferred within the same zone. It was decided to submit the transfer list that would be prepared by the board to the Governor on January 30.

Provincial Education Ministry Secretary S Sathiyaseelan, Provincial Director of Education V Selvarajah, zonal directors of Northern Province and ministry officials were present.
