More landslide prone areas

Ninety four land slide prone areas have been identified in Matale Naula Rattota and Ukuwela Divisional Secretariat Divisions.

Four teams from the National Building Research Institute are doing further studies to identify other areas of possible risk. "We hope to submit suggestions as soon as the research work is over," said M C U B Moremada, the Geologist of the NBRI Matale.

It is essential to re-locate the families in the high risk areas as it is dangerous to live in those areas, he said.
