National Safety Day commemoration in Badulla today

The Disaster Management Ministry in collaboration with the Disaster Management Centre will commemorate National Safety Day 2012 in the Badulla district today. The seventh National Safety Day will be held this year under the theme 'Towards a Safer Sri Lanka'.

All Sri Lankans who perished due to various disasters including the 2004 tsunami will be remembered by observing silence from 9.25am to 9.27am today.

A series of programmes will be conducted countrywide with the participation of ministries and departments.
