Warning from Health Ministry

The Health Ministry yesterday warned the public in flood - affected
areas on the possible outbreak of communicable diseases and dengue. A
Health Ministry spokesman said people in affected areas should drink
boiled water and eat home cooked food.
"They should avoid food such as raw salads etc. The ministry Disaster
Management Centre is open 24 hours," the spokesman said.
He said mosquito breeding places should be destroyed.
"Arrangements have been made to add chlorine to all water resources
affected by floods and to provide drugs. Some state hospitals including
Kurunegala Hospital have been damaged by floods," he said.
