SLIM Bucks Launches directory, website

SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni has launched their first ever Membership Directory and official Website in an elegant style on the 17th of December 2012 at the Hilton Colombo Residencies.

The Chief Guest of the event was Prof K.U Kamalgoda who is the Chairman - Board of Study of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and also former Managing Director / CEO of State Pharmaceuticals Cooperation.

The event was followed by cocktails for Alumni members, SLIM Officials and Past Presidents and guests from Media partners.

The event started off with the lighting of traditional oil lamp by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Office Bearers and Project Chairpersons of SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni and President/SLIM and CEO of SLIM.

Delivering the welcome address, President, SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni, Mr. Pradeep Edward stated that the objectives set for the first year of Alumni are successfully achieved with the completion of these two projects and what is most important is to see that our members have enthusiastically got together with the Alumni to celebrate the success as over 85% of alumni members have participated the event.

Pradeep thanked the respective Project Chairs, Thilanka Chethiyawardena who is looking into Membership Development and Madhurangi Abeygunasekera, who is also the General Secretary of the SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni for their untiring efforts and valuable contribution. The Chief Guest of the event, Prof. K. U. Kamalgoda has shared his wisdom on how the learning of an MBA would add value to an individual and what makes a truly responsible Corporate Executive in the context of today's fast moving business world.

His insights were further justified and elaborated by the Guest of Honour, Prasanna Perera, who is also a mentor for Bucks MBA students and the Alumni.

Addressing gathering, Tilan Wijesekera, the President of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, congratulated the current Executive Committee for bringing the Alumni to a greater height just within a year and appreciated the efforts of the members for carrying out five projects within such a short period which adds greater value to the Bucks MBA Brand and Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.

The Membership Directory was launched by President/SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni, Pradeep Edward, the Project Chairperson, Ms. Thilanka Chethiyawardena and the Vice President, Anthony Jayasena by officially handing it over to Prof. K. U. Kamalgoda, Prasanna Perera, Tilan Wijesekera, Sanath Senanayake, Sarath Fernando, Upali Ranjith, Dharaka Abeywickrama and other distinguished guests.

The website was officially launched by Prasanna Perera, the guest of honour, accompanied by Pradeep Edward the President, the project chairperson, Madhurangi Abeygunasekera and Event Director, Priyantha Neelawala who also has delivered the vote of thanks.

The event was further enlivened with the surprise appearance of Santa clause.

SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni constitutes of MBA holders of Buckinghamshire New University of the United Kingdom, the course conducted in collaboration with Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

The MBA programme, best known as Bucks MBA, started 03 years ago in Sri Lanka and produced more than 100 MBA graduates within this short period and it keeps growing annually.
