Man dies in tractor mishap

A person traveling in a tractor seated on the mud guard near the engine was critically injured when he fell off the tractor and was run over by a rear wheel of the trailer on the Thelambugaswewa – Maha Kelegama road around 3.30pm on December 17.

He was rushed to Galenbindunuwewa Hospital and later transferred to the Anuradhapura Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. The deceased was identified as K Jayalath Karunaratne, 37, of Galenbindunuwewa.

The Police investigating the incident took the tractor driver and the tractor into custody.
