Solid hardwood flooring has its unique qualities and advantages.
Compared to engineered wooden flooring where the core material is either
HDF, pine wood, plywood or wood the core material in hardwood flooring
is solid wood. Whereas in the former the face layer is a thin layer of
wood veneer between 1 mm to 5 mm, in the latter the face is solid wood.
The solid wood could be polished up to the entire thickness as the
material is homogeneous throughout and will look natural and will last.
Engineered wood can only be polished up to the layer of wood veneer and
the natural look will only last until the veneer is visible.
Solid hardwood flooring systems by Junckers offer an impressive range
of pre-finished hardwood flooring in various thicknesses, styles, grades
and finishes along with a large palette of colours allowing great scope
for creativity, individual solutions and unconventional combinations
making innovative details possible.
Founded in Denmark in 1930 Junckers is currently one of Europe's
leading producers of solid hardwood flooring.
All timber including Oak, Beech or Ash are sourced from managed
forests in Denmark which reflects Junckers attitude towards sustainable
forestry and felling policy.
"Junckers have been producing flooring since 1932 and today produce
around 1.5 million square meters of solid wood in different thicknesses
every year.
We sell our flooring worldwide through subsidiaries in 7 countries
and distributors / agents in 40 countries, and have been in Asia for 35
years and in India alone for 15 years," stated Henrik Petersen.
Hospitality is one of the most significant segments Junckers serve not
only in India but globally.
Junckers hardwood flooring has been used in all the reputed Hotel
chains in India such as the Taj Group, the Oberoi Group, JW Marriott,
the Hilton Group the Meridian and many others.
Apart from this and other segments, Junckers provides approximately
350,000 square meters of sports flooring every year to top global sport
venues such as the Olympic Games.
"We have used this product in India for the last 15 years. India has
the same climatic conditions as Sri Lanka but it works in any climate
and a wet mop is all that is required for maintenance," added Suresh
Kumar of Junckers. "Armed with FSC and PEFC certifications for wooden
materials and ISO 14001, we at Junckers make sure that minimum resources
and energy is used in the process of production,, stated Petersen also
adding that the wood waste from the company's plants is reused as wooden
chips for an energy plant thus economising on energy.
