Expolanka take Mercantile 'A' division title

Expolanka emerged Mercantile Football A Division Champions 2012 when they defeated Hatton National Bank by 5-1 in the final worked off at CR and FC grounds on Wednesday.

Sampath Bank won the title in the B Division when they overcame Colombo Dock Yard by 1-0 earlier on the day at the same venue.

A superb goal sack from A R A Shazny which included five goals helped them to wipe away HNB. In the first minute of the game HNB took the lead when W A S S Gunawardena booted the first goal.

Expolanka was desperately looking for an equalizer until when Shazny stroke in the 23rd minute. After the break he went on to score another goal and then in the 75th minute completed a hat trick with another beauty. Four minutes later he scored the fourth goal and again in the 84th minuted deceived the HNB defense the fifth goal. A A Tharanga refereed. In the B division final Avinda Adikari scored the only and victorious goal for Sampath Bank. M K I Sandakelum refereed.
