Day and Night cricket tourney

For the Fourth consoutive year the nine-a-side Day and Night cricket Tournament organised by the Pahala Karagahamuna Sports Club will be held at the Mahara Prison ground on December 15 and 16.

Twenty six cricket teams in the Mahara Electrorate will participate in the tournament. The tournament will be carried out under two major division namely Juniors and Senior Category's. The champions will receive cash award of Rs. One Lakh each while the runners-up will receive cash awards of Rs. Fifty Thousand each.

In addition there will be special awards for the best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and man of the match.

Western Provincial Council Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, Mahara SLFP Chief Organiser Housing and Engineering Services Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Sahan Predeep Vithana will be Chief Guest on First day.
