The finals of the 28th Sri Lanka Youth - Rupavahini Volleyball
Challenge organized by the National Youth Council in collaboration with
the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, Youth Affairs and Skills
Development Ministry and Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation will be held
on December 15 (Saturday) commencing at 8.30 am at the Sugathadasa
Indoor Stadium.
Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Ports Authority teams will vie in the
men's super league final while Sri Lanka Air Force and Casual Line SC,
Mawathagama battle in the women's final.
For the Youth Club Challenge Trophy men's finals, Ruwanwella
Rajasinghe Youth Club and Red Cap Youth Club, Anuradhapura have secured
their places.
The Anamaduwa Central College and Casual Line Youth Club will vie in
the women's final in the same category.
Eight men's teams and seven women's teams participated in the
tournament in two groups where they competed in round robin system
during the first stage. Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Bureau of
Foreign Employment have secured third places in men's and women's
categories respectively.
Apart from the trophies and certificates, attractive cash prizes will
be awarded to the champions , runners up , third and fourth places and
also to the best male and female player in the super league and youth
challenge categories.
The awards ceremony will be held after the finals at 6pm on Saturday
under the patronage of Youth Affairs and Skills Development minister
Dallas Alahapperuma as the chief guest while guest of honours will be
Mass Media and Information minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Foreign
Employment Promotions and Welfare minister and Sri Lanka Volleyball
Federation president minister Dilan Perera.
