Festive cheer with X'mas Carols
Since music in the Victorian era had begun to really spark interest
in new songs and more performances, it was natural to see people create
and write songs that revolved around Christmas. It was during this time
that many carol singers could be seen going from house to house singing
the new songs of that time period, such as O Little Town of Bethlehem, O
Come all ye Faithful and Away in a Manger.
The Galle Face Hotel Colombo has made elaborate plans for a wonderful
evening of Christmas Carols which will be held on Friday December 21 at
the Patio. One could listen to all time favourite Christmas classics
brought to life by Choro Calibre and Metho Cantanty Choir during the
evening.
Some of the most popular Christmas Carols like Away in a Manger is
always the first carol that children are taught. |
