Allround performance brings victories for St. Anthony's

St.Anthony's College Wattala recorded two victories in their under-13 division III matches against St. Jude's College and St. Mary's College respectively. Both matches were played in Negombo where the visitors recorded first innings victories.

Against St. Jude's, taking the first lease, St.Anthony's Wattala scored 132 in their first innings.

Devinda Taylor was the main contributor for the side with 38 runs. Nihara Dilshan (3 for 18) and Ravihansa Philliph (3 for 16) were the most impressive among the bowlers. In reply, St Judes were all out for 109. Trevin Fernando hit a fine half ton while Kavinda Fernando scored 20 for St. Jude's. Shenal Silva bagged 4 wickets for 21.

The Anthonians were 80 for 4 at close of play.

Nihara Dilshan added another three wickets to his match bag. St.Anthony's College won the match in the first innings.

St.Anthnoy's: 132 (Devinda Taylor 38, Shamal Nishitha 14, Nihara Dilshan 3 for 18, Ravihansa Philliph 3 for 16) and 80 / 4 (Anton Fernando 23, Shenal Silva 21 n.o., Nihara Dilshan 3/21)

St.Jude's: 109 (Tarevin Fernando 51, Kavinda Fernando 20, Shenal Silva 4/21, Thimira Devaru 1/3)

Another first innings win for St. Anthony's

A fine overall performance by St.Anthony's College Wattala helped them to claim a first innings win over St.Mary's College Negombo in their under 13 division three match played at Negombo. Marians took the first lease and Mohammed Fawzan and Chanaka Shihara scored 26 runs each. Shenal Silva (three for 15) and Vikum Nethamal (two for seven) were the best among the Anthonian bowlers. St. Anthony's College scored 126 runs with the help of their in form batsmen Sachith Jayasundera (28) and Devinda Taylor (23). Asitha Sudeera (four for 38) and Sahan Chamara (three for 11) were the top performers for the home side.

St.Mary's : 118 ( Mohammed Fawzan 26, Chanaka Shihara 26, Shenal Silva 3/15, Vikum Nethmal 2/7)

St.Anthony's : 126( Sachith Jayasundera 28, Devinda Taylor 23, Asitha Sudeera 4/38, Sahan Chamara 3/11)
