Police warn of burglars in Mahiyanganaya

Mahiyanganaya Police warned the public that they have received information about a gang of thieves planning to break into houses and shops in the area.

In a leaflet circulated among shop owners and managers in and around Mahiyanganaya town, the Police said they received information regarding a gang of thieves in the locality.

“If you don't want to run the risk of losing your properties, be alert,” the Police said in the leaflet.

The Police urged the public to lock doors and windows of shops and houses. They also told the public to switch on lights in their houses and shops.

Meanwhile, Mahiyanganaya Police are investigating several incidents of thefts reported near the clock tower junction last month.
