Top drivers and riders to be honoured

The drivers and riders who provided maximum entertainment during the 2012 Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) racing season will be honoured for their heroics at the prestigious CEAT-SLARDAR Championship awards night tomorrow evening.

A total of 16 awards, including the four coveted 2011 Championship awards and 12 awards for supporting events will be presented at this year’s ceremony supported by CEAT.

Dinesh Deheragoda, Manish gunathillake and Aravinda Premadasa (SL-GT Cars up to 3500 cc), Ashan Silva, Sajjad Zuhair and Janaka Dias (SL-H Cars up to 1600 cc), Gayan Sandaruwan and Shehan C Adhikari (MX Racing Motorcross bikes up to 250 cc) while the brilliant youngsters Jacques Gunawardena and Evon B Gurusinghe (MX Racing up to 85 cc - Under 16) are the front runners for the top honours. Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya will be the chief guest.
