A Delicious variety to choose from

Delicious which has been in operation from 2010 is already popular among many young food lovers in Colombo. This season they have come with a variety of delicious dishes to keep you satisfied during this crazy season.

“The main meal people love here is lunch and Sri Lankans especially love to eat rice for lunch most of the time”, Delicious owner Waznie Neaz stated. We have introduced many new dishes that are already fast selling at the venue located at Choco Luv down 67A, Gregory’s Road. Some of the hot dishes are lasagna, steak cheddar wraps, cheese kottu (a big favourite), fish and chips, spaghetti bolognese, tortillas, submarines, chilli cheese fries and grain-o-holic. All of these dishes are a fusion of Italian, Sri Lankan, Mediterranean and Asian.

“Every full moon, we come out with a limited edition dish that is very exciting. For the coming season we are looking at bringing some new dishes as well with seasonal discounts and more”, Waznie added. Delicious is also open for events, birthday parties, meetings or for corporate lunches and the place is ideal because of the ample parking space available. We serve halal food, our food is affordable and is of quality and diners can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or order for something on the go as well, Waznie stressed.

We will me mixing up Sri Lankan hoppers and Mexican tacos together to deliver something unique called Tappers.

This will be served with an array of tantalizing flavours to suit anyone’s appetite such as double cheese and chips or creamy fish and cheese or a Bolognese beef tappers or shrimp tappers. As lot of of expatriates come here to dine, they serve a Spanish omelette which is very popular among them and the British come to enjoy their local favourites – fish and chips. Delicious is a franchise of Pot Biriyani (begun five years ago), situated at Pieris Mawatha, Kalubowila.

This is handled by Waznie’s wife and this is made only for orders. This is really a unique concept as we have begun a combination of Hyderabad style biriyani with a touch of Sri Lanka and one pot is enough to serve seven people. The pots range from chicken, mutton, fish and vegetarian. We do catering to mostly parties and weddings. We cook in the pot and all what the customer has to do is serve directly from the pot and enjoy everything fresh. Plans are being made to expand it to other areas such as Mount Lavinia and Galle and this way we hope it will help people who are looking for employment.

The man behind these two great ventures did not always start off his career in the food industry. He began his first job at Dialog while Deejaying part time in almost all the five start hotels and house parties in 1993.

Then later he flew to Dubai and began working in a newspaper company as an Entertainment reporter from 2004 to 2008. From there he moved to Bahrain as a Sports Sub and also a part time DJ. When he came to Sri Lankan in 2007 he began Pot Biriyani and then 3 years later started Delicious.
