Wagmi excels in Karate

Wagmi Thavinshini Edirisinghe, a student of Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala joined the school in 2007 and the very some year she embraced Karate. She has brought honour and glory to the school by winning medals and now she is a black belt holder. She achieved both gold medals for “Karate Kumite” at the Kurunegala district championship.

n addition to that, she was capable to claim a gold medal for “Karate” and silver for “Kumite” in the provincial competitions. Apart from ‘Karate’ she excels in scrabble as well. She studies in grade 7 in English medium section. She offers her sincere gratitude to the principal Mrs. Soma Rathnayake and the coach Prabath Jayawardana.
