Navy nabs 37 Indians for poaching

The Navy arrested 37 Indian fishermen along with five Indian fishing
vessels engaged in poaching in the Eastern seas on Tuesday. The vessels
and fishermen were brought to the Trincomalee Harbour and handed over to
the Police.
Meanwhile, Naval troops attached to the Naval Deployment of
Mullaithivu found a haul of mines and gunnery recently.
They conducted a search operation following a tip-off and found the
items at Kovil Junction in Chalai and Wellamullai Waikkal.
Among the items seized were 17 Johnnie, 99 landmines, one 81 mm tramp
bomb, 17 hand grenades, three 60 mm mortars, one 81 mm mortar and one 60
mm para.
