Kelani Cables consignment to Australia

Sri Lanka's leading power cable manufacturer, Kelani Cables launched its third power cable consignment to the Australian domestic market recently.

Kelani Cables CEO, Mahinda Saranapala told Daily News Business, that this marks an important step in our journey to aggressively expand our footprint to the international market.

Kelani Cables is the first Sri Lankan company to export power cables to Australia. The Technical Services Department together with its production team was awarded a special Quality Certificate from Australia for their special power cable product of Plastic coating Flat Wire and some of their specialized cable products.

The Company is planning to enter the markets of New Zealand, with the Australian Quality Certification as it enables them for Business in New Zealand.

Highlighting the main issues faced by the local power cable industry, Saranapala noted that the local market is largely present in low-quality cables and wires and these products have the ability to cause various health hazards for end users due to their poor insulation capacity.
