The Department. of Agribusiness Management of the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka offers a six month Diploma in Food Business and Marketing (DFBM) from January 2013 to cater the long felt need of the food production, processing and marketing sectors / systems in Sri Lanka by providing a comprehensive training to add significant value to participants through the development of strategic marketing and innovative thinking.

The Diploma provides an enhanced understanding of economic, management and marketing related aspects of food businesses, both in terms of technical subject matter and overall management skills. 

This is a professional qualification for anyone interested to start their career or uplift his/her knowledge in food production, processing and marketing sectors in Sri Lanka or overseas, in general.

It will develop participants’ understanding of the fundamental theories and practices linked to efficient and effective administration and management of various types of food businesses in Sri Lanka and overseas.

This unique offer will add value to anyone currently employed in the sector and for potential recruits to the sector.

The DFBM will comprise of 15 Modules covering all theoretical and practical aspects including Principles of Business Management, Business Statistics, Food Marketing, ICT, Customer Relationship Management to Contemporary Issues in Food Business Management coupled with professional and transferable skills.

Sessions will be carried out by a panel of highly qualified and experienced lecturers comprised of University Academics and Experts from the food industry through innovative teaching and learning strategies, consisting of Contact sessions covering 150 hours to meet the needs of the food industry in a practical and customer centric manner.
