A Maga Neguma Construction and

A flag blessing ceremony was held at
Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi under the patronage of Navy
Commander Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage on Saturday to
mark the 62nd anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy.
North-central Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Sisira
Jayakody, senior Naval officers and Naval personnel also
participated. The ceremony was led by Atamastanadhipathi and
Chief Incumbent Ven Pallegama Sirinivasabhidhana Nayaka
Thera together with chief monks of Atamastana temples. They
invoked blessings on the National flag, Buddhist flag, Naval
Ensign, Command flags, establishments and ships flags after
they were laid at the foot of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. This
was conducted as the first flag blessing ceremony of the Sri
Lanka Naval history and 70 flags were laid to invoke
blessings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Other religious
activities followed after the flag blessing ceremony. |

The Water Supply and Drainage Board
has launched a programme to provide jobs to Children of
former employees of the Board to mark the 67th birthday of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Seventy-two letters of
appointment were presented to the new employees at a
ceremony at the ministry recently. Here a former employee’s
son receives his letter of appointment from Water Supply
