RINL Steel mulls plant in SL

A delegation from RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant led by Shri T K
Chand, Director, (Commercial), would be visiting Sri Lanka from December
2 to 5 to assess the market, discuss with Business Associates and
develop RINL business plans in Sri Lanka.
RINL is a US $ three billion company undergoing expansion, increasing
its value to US $ six billion.
With its expansion, the total product volume would be six MT. At
present, RINL is the single largest exporter of Pig Iron from India and
its products of Billets, Rounds, Wire Rods, which are highly valued by
international customers. The Chief of the delegation along with team
members would interact with Business Associates and Rolling Mill owners
of Sri Lanka.
The team is also looking for a manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka
either in Trincomalee or in Hambantota.
The delegation consists of representatives from the Ministry of
Steel, Government of India and Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, namely Shri TK
Chand, Director (Commercial), RINL; Shri HL Meena, Director, Ministry of
Steel; Shri Wilson David, GM (Mills), RINL and Shri Desikachar, DGM
