Janasewana Viru Gammanaya opening

The Janasewana Viru Gammanaya with 35 houses in Karunanithigama,
Dehiattakandiya in Ampara will be opened under the patronage of
Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Minister Wimal Weerawansa on December 1. The National Housing
Development Authority (NHDA) built the houses on the directive of
Minister Weerawansa.
These homes will also be included in the Janasewana one million
housing project's Sahashra Lanka housing programme.
The village was named in memory of fallen War Heroes W M
Karunasundara and T M Jayathissa.
Meanwhile, the construction of Janasewana housing village for
Adhiwasi community in Pollebedda, Mahaoya in Ampara will be inaugurated
under the patronage of Minister Weerawansa and Telecommunication and
Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya on the same day.
The NHDA is to build 30 houses for identified homeless adhivasi families
under this project. All these houses will have infrastructure
facilities. The NHDA is to spend around Rs 15 million for the project.
