Seven killed in train-trishaw crash

Seven people - two men, three women and two girls - died when the Colombo -Vavuniya Yaldevi train crashed into a three wheeler they were traveling at the Kirimetiyawa railway crossing yesterday morning. The driver of the three wheeler, W M Udaya Asiri Wijekoon of Biyagama, his wife, son, daughter and another woman and two girls had gone to visit the three wheeler driver’s father in Amunugama, Ambanpola.

While returning, the three wheeler was knocked down by a train at the unprotected railway crossing at Kirimatiyawa.
