SLTPB holds promotional campaign in Kazakhstan
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) along with the Embassy of
Sri Lanka in Russia has successfully completed a tourism promotional
campaign in Kazakhstan coinciding with the state visit of President
Mahinda Rajapaksa . During the promotional campaign and travel and
tourism forum special emphasis was laid onto promoting Sri Lankan
culture and Ceylon tea products to the Kazakhstani tourism market.

This promotional campaign travel and tourism forum was based on the
special agenda of the Sri Lankan Government to achieve its tourist
arrival goals by 2016 along with the key stakeholders in the industry.
During the promotional event in Kazakhstan, consumer based
promotional activities were given the prime focus and the SLTPB
initiated action to distribute tourism promotional materials at major
shopping malls, whilst providing entertainment with Sri Lankan dancing
performances, which proved to be highly popular among the Kazakhstani
nationals.
In addition, a cultural show was held at the Palace of Peace and
Reconciliation in Astana on November 19, organized with the assistance
of the Mayor of Astana, in view of promoting tourism and to commemorate
the 20th Anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Sri Lanka and
Kazakhstan.
On November 21 , SLTPB conducted a Travel and Tourism Forum at Hotel
Rixoss with the participation of a number of travel and tourism partners
from Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan.
First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest
with Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs in attendance.

delegation of President Rajapaksa's state visit to Kazakhstan.
