Golden Wings win

Golden Wings Sports Club put up a golden performance when they scored a sensational 3-2 win over the more fancied Madhyamalanka spots club in their Kandy Association football leagues 'A' Division knock at soccer tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy at half time golden wings SC led 1-0.

Madhyamalanka SC is one of the top favorites in the tournament having entered the finals of this tournament last year and it ended in a draw and the trophy was not awarded as both teams refused to go for the 'golden goal' or a penalty shoot out to break the deadlock.

Madhyamalanka scored their goals through centre forward Mohamed Hussain and left exfreme Mohamed Rizan.

The winners Golden Wing Sports club scored their goals through centre forward Dilan Herath (1), centre forward Harald Wijesuriya (1) and left extreme Dulath Madusanka (1). Jayantha Kumara refereed.
