MAS Active emerge league champs
MAS Active clinched the league championship of Mercantile A Division
Cricket Tournament for the second consecutive year beating Seylan Bank
by 8 wickets at Bloomfield Grounds recently.

Mas Active first three matches ended as no decisions due to rain and
were at the bottom of the points table,but came back strongly beating
ETI, Mas Unichela and Seylan to be on top.
Mas Active team led by Tharanga Lakshitha showed their class last
Tuesday when they beat Seylan even before the lunch. Batting first
Seylan were bundled out for 140 in 30.1 overs. In reply Active batsmen
reached the target in 15.1 overs for 2 wickets before lunch.
In-form opening batsman Andy Solomons (49 in 32 balls) and
T.M.Sampath (58 n.o. in 34 balls) top scored for Mas Active. Veteran
journalist Ranjan Paranavithana coached the Mas Active side.
