Pushpadana retains under 19 cager title

Pushpadana Girls College Kandy, retained the girls under 19 basketball title for the second successive year by scoring a close 23-20 win over St. Anthony's Girls College, Kandy in their Kandy District basketball championship finals played at St. Anthony's Girls College courts, Kandy. At half time Pushpadana Girls College led 12-9.

Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy and Colombo International School-Kandy finished joint runners up.

In the semi finals Pushpadana Girls College beat Colombo International School 18-8 and St. Anthony's Girls College beat Good Shepherd Convent by the slender margin of 12-11. The awards were presented by Kandy Municipal Council Member Asmin Marikkar and K. Baskara President Young Men's Hindu Association.

Gateway College 'B' lost to St. Anthony's Girls College 9-11, Good Shepherd Convent beat St. Anthony's Girls College 'B' 11-6.
