Thihariya United edge out Hylines SC 3/2

Thihariya United fought back in the second half to defeat the hitherto unbeaten Hylines Sports Club, Kandy 3-2 in their Premier League Soccer Tournament match played at public grounds, Thihariya. At half time it was the losers Hylines who led 2-0.

Having a comfortable 2-0 in the first half Hylines failed to consolidate as they conceded three goals after the turn around not only to lose the match but also their unbeaten record. Thihariya United first reduced the lead through a penalty. Later they were gifted a goal when a Hyline. defender kicked behind in defence but their custodian was out of position and the ball found the net.

Thihariya United wrapped up the proceedings by notching up a field goal. But this defeat will not prevent Hylines SC from entering the semi finals considering their overall performance. They will now meet Ketarians Sports club at Ambalangoda on Sunday, November 26.
