Peterites win by four wickets

A fine overall performance by St.Peter’s College Colombo helped them to beat Isipatana College by four wickets in their inter school under 19 division one cricket match which concluded at Bambalapitiya yesterday .

Taking the first lease of the wicket Isipatana scored 140 runs. Chenutha Wickramasinghe scored a fine half century (66) including eight hits to the ropes and one over it. Julian de Zilwa was the most important bowler with three for 33.

In reply St.Peter’s College scored 137 runs in 29.1 overs Lahiru Milantha and Chemila Obeysekara scored 27 runs each while Janith Liyanage knocked 25 runs. Kelum Bastians(four for 38) and Malin Dias (four for 44)were the main wreckers .

Isipatana were all out for 120 runs in 41.4 overs. Ramith Sandaruwan and Deshan Jayakumar contributed with 37 runs each .Krishan Fernando (four for 12) and Julian de Zilwa (three for 26) were the most important among the bowlers.

St.Peter’s College were given a target of 123 runs and they reached it by scoring 124 for six in 35 overs.

Shasheen Fernando (49 not out) was the main contributor for Peterites.Chameera Dissanayake bagged three wickets for 19 while Dilan Punchihewa captured two for 38.
