Marine environment training course
The regional training course conducted by the Atomic Energy Authority
in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Marine
Protection Authority and National Aquatic Resources Research and
Development Agency will be held until November 30 in Colombo.
The NARA will facilitate the sampling demonstration activity by using
the research vessel Samurdhika.
About 30 foreign participants from member states of the Asia- Pacific
region and 15 local participants from MEPA, NARA, Faculty of Marine
Science and Technology of the Ruhuna University, Kelaniya University
Chemistry Department and AEA will attend the training programme.
The programme is conduced under the IAEA project supporting nuclear
and isotopic techniques to assess impact of climatic changes of
sustainable marine ecosystem management.
