Electric fence near Buddangala Sanctuary

The Wildlife Conservation Department is erecting an electric fence between Waladapitiya Wewa and Raja Wewa in the Ampara Buddangala Sanctuary to mitigate the human-elephant conflict . The estimated cost of the 40 km fence fence is Rs 20 million.

Civil Defence Force personnel have been entrusted with the work under the guidance of Agrarian Services and Wild Life Deputy Minister S.M.Chandrasena Wildlife Director General H.P.Rathnayake said.
