Falck' ambulance service in city

World's top ambulance service provider 'Falck' will start its
operations here to provide speedy emergency care medical service to
local patients. The service provides the patient with all emergency care
subjected to 100 percent European standards.
"We have registered as a BOI company under Med1 (Pvt) Limited and
currently serving Colombo and suburbs and hope to expand its service
throughout the country," its CEO/Managing Director Donnie Woodyard told
Daily News Business.
He said this type of ambulance service is only found in Europe and
USA and all their ambulances are fixed with all sophisticated equipment
to provide any emergency service initially focused to Colombo
metropolitan areas. He said that they intend to invest US $ five million
during the next
few years and hope to import more ambulances in the future apart from
15 ambulances in their fleet.MED1 Chief Medical Officer Dr Steve
Cockeram said these ambulances are especially designed to treat patient
any medical condition with large size vehicles with specially trained
staff including doctors.
He said that cost of an ambulance would be US $ 75,000 and will
provide high quality service and affordable charges for local patients.
Falck is currently operating in almost all the European countries and US
is present in 33 countries including Sri Lanka, he said. Med1 is a Sri
Lankan based company which merged with Falck recently. |
